yes, it's Kiki again venting about my experience with insurance.
so i was told that in nj there is an option with the insurance company that you can pay extra for called PIP. of course i heard this from a bunch of men...believing them was my frist mistake. I should have known.
i finally get to call my motorcycle insurance company to find out that every policy you buy from them has both PIP and uninsured motorist, which covers only the people you hurt or the damage you may cause. they offer NO coverage for the operator herself.
also, even if you think your auto insurance will pick up where your motorcycle drops off, they don't. at least mine didn't, as apparently there is an exclusion for motorcycles or anything with less than four wheels.
which leads you to your own personal health/medical benefits, of which I have none, as I do not work a 40-hour a week job, nor do I have a husband's benefits, and personally, it is too damn expensive.
Plus, I always thought that one day my prince would come and he would have no baggage, no debt, no ex-wifes or kids. ok. ok. I was dreaming. but until this happened, I was not able to let the fairytale go.
by the way, why is it that same sex couples can now use their "spouses" medical benefits but i can't use my brother's (which we share a house together, both names on the mortgage)? We are "Blood" which I would htink would be more than a marriage certificate, as one can't change that.
i guess what i want everyone to do is check into their insurance policies, all of them, just to make sure there are no exclusions and that you are at least covered by a minimum of one policy.
Well, now I'm off to write another piece on motorcycle safety equipment, lether, etc...
i hope this saves someone from going through what i am
