WANTED - MEMBERS FOR A CHAPTER IN PA

Hello Sisters,

I need help here getting a chapter together here in PA. So far there is only Barbara and myself. It so hard to get women to join. I have given out flyers and hung them up in different stores. Talked about it even at work. Even told them the spouses/partners can ride along no problem. I'm having no luck. It sure does get disappointing Sad

. Help me ladies give me more ideas Confused

It is hard to get things rolling. We are just starting a chapter here in central OK. We have our first meeting 5/5. What I figure as long as there is two of us (LilNinja and me) then we will have chapter meetings. I am going to put a add in the local shop and swap paper (it is a free paper to the public and cheap rates for ads) when we set up a fixed day/time for the meetings.(i.e. every 2nd Saturday, 2:00 pm) I think meeting at a set time will help get new members because they might forget one month but if the next month is the same they might remember.

You also might trying submitting something to the local newspaper and see if they would be interested in writing an article about the new chapter. Women in motorcycling is really big right now and Very Happy

I could send you what I wrote up and sent to our local paper.

Hang in there!! As with all things that are good, it just takes time!

I pout a flyer up at our local ice cream shop and that is how I got the first member. Plus my name and e-mail are on the VTwin Mama site and several people e-mailed me from that (the lets ride page) and I have contacted new jersey from that page too because they have their names and e-mails om there specifically for that purpose.

I carry brochures with me as I always meet someone interested (even if they are not on a bike) and it took about 7 noths before I got more than 4 people. Hang in there....as MOM (of us SIS says) "It'll come" Very Happy

ps and I put up flyers at the grocery stores.......
didn't do this but will....beauty salons, nail place, gift shop etc

Hang in there Janet, It will happen, When the first one comes it is like someones turns on the light and things change. Wachee and Tink are correct with what they are telling you. Be patient. And most of all thanks for trying. You are not a lone in this you have all the SIS working with you
